Heya-
Student expat in 30s seeks pals to jam or form a band with. I am a guitar player, and have an electric here with me...would pick up an amp quick if the right scene came along. As far as what to play, I could dig on hard rock (e.g. AC/DC), Grunge (Screaming Trees, Soundgarden), Indie (Husker Du, The Hives), Punk (Sex Pistols, Clash), other? Open to experimentation. Don't know much about S'pore music scene so don't know how available practice spaces are. Anyway, if interested hit me! |

Manager, publisher, and songwriter seeks artist or band with recording studio for spec work. Over the past year, I have secured several releases by various artists on indie labels and signed numerous publishing, licensing, and digital distribution deals for others who recorded my songs. However, despite significant interest from major labels and publishers around the world, none of these deals provide for advances or reimbursement of demo costs.
As a result, I am seeking to collaborate with singers, multi-instrumentalists, and producers who would like to voluntarily record demos of my songs in exchange for my efforts in pitching and placing your work with record labels, publishers, producers, managers, A&R reps, music supervisors, filmmakers, production libraries, etc. Its a win-win for everyone, especially if you dont have the time, budget, knowledge, or contacts to effectively promote your work. I have a back catalog of 200 songs in the country and pop genre. If you record any demos, I will include your work on a compilation CD, upload the songs to numerous websites, and submit follow-up e-mails to my industry contacts. To ensure proper credit, I will include your name, bio, photo or logo, and contact information on all e-mails, CDs, lyric sheets, mp3 files, and websites, as appropriate. Please include a hyperlink to your music. Thanks. |

Hi there,
We're a bunch of locals and expats aged 24 - 35 who're forming a band to play soul, funk and disco music. Frankly, most of us are at best amateur musicians (i.e. very rusty) and are hoping to be able to perform after about 3 months of rehearsing (twice a week). These aren't paid gigs and we might at best get free drinks - so if you're a professional looking for paid gigs, you're prolly overqualified for us. We need a drummer, horn player (sax, trumpet, trombone etc) and keyboardist. Our influences are folk like James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, KC and the Sunshine Band, Chic and Sister Sledge, Michael Jackson, Prince, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Hall and Oates (mostly from 60s - 80s) and also more obscure acts from the same period, and some modern stuff (Moloko, Breakbot, Modjo, Fred Falke, Hot Chip, Jamiroquai etc). Whatever it is, we dig anythin' with soul/groove. We have a couple of performance places possibly lined up once we are ready (1 is a cafe/bar in Raffles Place) and another is a bar at Haji Lane. We aren't fussy, as we are frankly kinda rusty musicians, and just hope to find others who're just as into 'black music' as we are. We wanna have fun with this, and may even wear ensemble outfits (60s or 70s looking gear) to match the retro sounds we wanna make - so please be open-minded and fun-loving. Or if you are a electronic musician who would like to help us create a unique sound with your laptop (ableton, reason etc), please also consider joining us. If keen, please email Bernard at berns.chung@gmail.com or sms at 9 337 4482. |

Published songwriter with numerous releases by indie artists and labels seeks to barter with recording artist or producer. Prefer self-contained artists such as bands or singer/multi-instrumentalists with their own recording studio or equipment. Country, pop, or rock only.
I was formerly a manager for a female solo artist and am currently an independent publisher and songplugger. To date, I have written over 200 songs and secured about 25 publishing, licensing, and digital distribution deals both here and abroad. Some of these offers were for me, others were for the artist on my demos, and many were for both of us. However, none of these deals offer payment for advances or demo costs. Publishers, managers, and songpluggers generally represent artists for a predetermined fee, percentage of gross, and/or share of publishing rights plus reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses. In exchange for demos of my songs, I am willing to pitch your songs without compensationno publishing rights or songplugging fees. I am also willing to fully credit your work on my songs which, in and of itself, should generate interest in your songs, too. So, Ill be glad to provide the songs and shop the demos but, unfortunately, the rest is up to you. I am willing to pay marketing costs, not recording costs. Please include a hyperlink to your music, along with a short bio. If interested, I will reply with additional details. |
